Is doing some amazing work!
Fred and I were at The James Cancer Center today in Columbus, meeting some great employees (Caitlin and Lindsay) who invited us in to come and say hello. There were two current patients (Marsha and Jose), a woman (Sandy) whose husband recently passed away to lung cancer, Dr. Amann and a number of their researchers from around the world.
They greeted us with a great breakfast and then a tour of their facility. Pretty amazing place and very dedicated people doing research on lung cancer every day. And they gave me a biking shirt which I proudly wore today.
We were also introduced to Coach Mike Golden, former state championship coach at Upper Arlington and currently the head coach at Delaware Hayes. Coach Golden is a lung cancer survivor and came over to meet us. Thanks, Coach!
I rode 35 miles today (it was my day off) and these miles helped me cut into the miles tomorrow since it is supposed to rain. The plan is to be in Indianapolis on Sunday and see my wife!!
And at night, Fred and I traveled to Delaware, Ohio to see Fred’s son, Matt, coach Delaware Buckeye Valley to a convincing win. Great to see a high school football game, and to see much of Fred’s family.
Tomorrow, we head west past Dayton! Let’s hope for good weather!
